Therefore, I commit to servicing children in a capacity that will produce a positive attitude of personal efficacy in each life.”                        Principal Cohen

In the fall of 2015, as part of TBS Schoolyard Exchange, graduate students from the University of Colorado(CU) worked with the school to begin laying the groundwork for the ‘One Vision, One Schoolyard plan.’  The CU graduate students made a video of their efforts for the school and community.

In the spring of 2016, TBS’s collaboration with the school continued with Duckrey Paint4Play.  More than 100 parents, students and parents came out to reclaim the Tanner G. Duckrey schoolyard, transforming over 6,000 square feet of asphalt into brightly colored games, mazes and patterns. With support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, it was a day of painting, music, food and fun.

Our work continues with the school and community as we seek funds to implement the improvements.  Principal Cohen shared his thoughts about how The Big SandBox has been positively impacting his school.
